Release and recover - The new wellness recovery class

  • Werklab Inc. 280-1275 Venables Street Vancouver, BC, V6A 2E4 Canada (map)

Learn to listen to your body in this new somatic wellness experience Guided foam rolling, Visualization meditation, Nervous system re-set

Most people don't know how to rest well. But beyond that, there's a real education gap between what's known in clinical psychology and research settings about recovery, emotional regulation, and nervous system health — and what's actually available to the general public.

We often ignore what our body is telling us, and put other people's needs ahead of our own. Over time, many people lose touch with their intuition or feel guilty for even asking. Body awareness is a skill that needs to be cultivated gradually. When you slow down and look inward to feel what your body is asking for and honour it, you're building the foundation for a kinder, more sustainable relationship with yourself that can extend into all aspects of life.

Release and recover is a guided recovery class that blends mindful movement, myo- fascial release (foam rolling), guided imagery meditation, and nervous system regulation into a single, cohesive experience.

Drawing from somatics, mindful self-compassion, and polyvagal theory in a curated sensory environment with curated music, scent, and lighting that supports deep relaxation.

A first of it's kind - this experience is not one to miss!

The class is highly beneficial, due to the therapeutic elements, to those who are:

of structured recovery and self-compassion

4) Athletes

Decreased risk of injury and higher body-awareness

5) Neurodivergent

A sensory-rich environment and permission to regulate without needing to sit still

6) Living with chronic pain and related conditions

Gentle, adaptive movement informed by fascia biology and physiotherapy can help with pain regulation

7) Caregivers & people who put others first

A space to start to develop tuning into your own needs and honouring what your body is asking for, that can be carried into other parts of life

8) The LGBTQIA+ community

Self-compassion practices encourages authenticity and B provides a safe space for queer self- expression

HOW IS THIS DIFFERENT TO OTHER CLASSES?

This is more than a yoga, or stretching class. It's a new and exciting multi-disciplinary recovery experience, with real life therapeutic take-aways for both your body and mind.

Rest day mood is about cultivating new emotional regulation and somatic skills that you can use outside the class. Over time, you'll develop a sharper sense of what your body is telling you — catching stress before it becomes burnout, knowing when to push and when to rest, and making better choices about how you look after yourself.
