Welcome to unique blend of yoga philosophy + indigenous ceremony to help you move from one season to the next with power and in community
Seasonal attunement - Fall Equinox
The fall season is all about honouring and learning how to move through change, grief, loss and endings so ultimately, we can heal + evolve. It is a time to notice how the land, the water, the sky and the light change and to let ourselves notice these changes in ourselves. To notice what is ready to fall away from our lives. It is a potent time of transformation. This seasonal portal is a great place to learn how to change. To learn how to let go, feel and honour your grief, surrender to your life path, connect to something bigger that guides your life, and trust that it is all happening in perfect timing. During the fall equinox we get to see what is ready to fall away from our life to make space for updated versions of ourselves.
In this fall equinox ceremony, I am inviting some fundamental teachings about how to let yourself change through indigenous and yogic teachings. I have identified what I consider to be essential key's to help you change so you don't have to try to figure it out on your own.
No matter where you are standing in your equinox, the breath can meet you where you are and land you where you need to be in the present moment.
My way and philosophy of sharing breathwork:
This method of Breathwork is rooted in traditional Pranayama from the Yogic tradition. There are some shared similarities in it to what we call modern breathwork, but one big difference is that my goal is to help you access your parasympathetic nervous system while exploring the edges of your sympathetic nervous system so there is a feeling of safety and bravery to access body held experiences that are ready to be processed so we can then access deeper relaxation, transformation and ultimately support the liberation of your own suffering.
We are not "doing breathwork" to chase a high or have an experience, we are practicing deep inner work to sustain long term transformation through the breath as a vehicle. This is a circular breathing technique done through the nose, that is designed to create opportunity for insight, mental clearing and clarity, emotional stimulation/regulation, physical vitality through working the lungs and mobilizing the diaphragm and spiritual connection to self, the land, one’s ancestors and the spirit world, This method has been described by many students as much gentler than other modern breathwork techniques but often still evokes multi dimensional awareness through great feelings of emotion and spiritual remembering.
I weave in my own indigenous Cree Métis teachings and yoga philosophy to guide students into the depths of their inner landscapes. There is plenty of space at the end for stillness/integration/meditation and there will be time for journalling. Come to this practice honest and it will meet you exactly where you are. It is a practice that can hold us in every season of life, in grief and Joy alike.
Preparing for the practice:
I will send you details for how to prepare and what to expect in this 2 hr ceremony once you sign up. We will build a community altar together - read the preparing email carefully so you don't miss anything.
Cost:
Tickets are pay-what-you-can - there are 10 community tickets at $25 and the rest range from $45-$65. Thank you for thinking about the whole community as you purchase based on where you land economically.
Thank you for supporting Indigenous led healing spaces. In choosing the cost, I need to account for my time, system fees and taxes while creating access that doesn't break your bank account.
