The A La Ligne Pilates Certification Program with Katie McKenzie


Expand your awareness of the body and movement with Katie’s progressive approach to classical mat Pilates instruction.

This certification applies a holistic lens to classical mat Pilates with a deep dive into anatomy, pre and post-natal, common injuries, trauma-informed movement, hands-on adjustments, class planning and more. You will leave this course with an in-depth understanding of how to safely and impactfully teach classical mat Pilates classes in the A La Ligne Method. 

While there are no prerequisites to the course, previous exposure to classical mat Pilates is recommended.

The A La Ligne Method Certification is open to health and fitness professionals, as well as individuals who would like to advance their personal Pilates practice.

What You Will Learn: 

  • Functional anatomy as it pertains to Pilates

  • Theory & practice of postural analysis 

  • How to apply biomechanical principles of core stability, breathing and alignment to all exercises

  • An in-depth and complete understanding of all classical mat Pilates exercises

  • Exercise goals, muscular initiation and movement sequencing

  • Modifications to increase or decrease exercise intensity

  • Modifications for specific body types, postural issues, injuries & pre and post-natal 

  • Tools to recognize and encourage optimal movement patterns

  • Tools to create safe energetic space for clients & yourself

  • Effective communication, verbal cues and imagery for performance enhancement and client motivation

  • 60 hour double certification received from the PhysicalMinds Institute (www.physicalmindinstitute.com) and the A La Ligne Method

  • October 9th- November 27th, 2019 

  • Every Wednesday from 5:30 - 9:00pm

  • Four in-depth Sunday sessions from 9:30am - 4:30pm (dates TBD)
