The Lab of Meditation: 200 Hour Meditation Teacher Training

A successful completion of the 200-hour Teacher Training will provide you with a certification of completion as a Lab of Meditation Mindfulness Teacher.  Join your guide, Hiroko Demicheles, and other beautiful souls for an intensive mindful journey focused on personal inquiry, science, biofeedback, and social justice.

Part one of this journey consists of 15-weeks of immersive evenings (Tuesdays, 6 pm – 9:30 pm) plus a non-residential weekend retreat.

The Lab of Meditation Teacher Training Program is laboratory-like exploration, in which we will explore our inner life and its effects on our bodies, brains, minds, and spirit.

In the Lab, through mindful practice, we will become curious scientists, as we observe emotions, with curiosity and without judgment. Objectively, like in a lab.

The Lab’s Meditation Teacher Training is an intensive 3-month program, aiming to provide you with the necessary understanding, training, mentoring, and practical experience to invite mindfulness into your life, as a practitioner or as a guide and teacher for others.  

This program is perfect for individuals wanting to build their personal practice, or for businesses and mindfully-oriented organizations wanting to feel competent and congruent in the practice of mindfulness, meditation and in life, overall.

In the sphere of living well the word, Intuitive Eating is common to come across. Maybe this term has peaked your interest but you haven’t been able to fully comprehend what it truly means. 

This is because Intuitive Eating goes against the mentality set forward by the soup of diet culture we live in. Intuitive Eating is hard to understand because it can’t be known through the mind but instead needs to experienced through the body. This is because Intuitive Eating is the practice of listening and taking action with food and body that is in alignment with internal wisdom. The term includes living, not just eating, in harmony and connection with our body not solely our mind and is rooted in neuroscience and somatic psychology.

If you have struggled with food and body it can be hard to discern what voices being to us and what voices are coming from society. For this reason, the practice of slowing down, getting curious, being mindful are powerful practices when applied to munching.

As The Cut has grown to become one of the most influential feminist news outlets, Anna has become a leading voice in the women’s media landscape. Her writing has helped usher in a new era of feminist journalism that focuses on substantive issues of political activism, sexual equality, and social justice. She has written extensively about the #MeToo movement and interviewed prominent women such as Kamala Harris, Lupita Nyong’o, Aidy Bryant, Carrie Brownstein, Lena Dunham, and many others. Last year, she made a podcast with Gimlet about the rise of the alt-right in Canada. Before moving to New York for graduate school at NYUl in 2012, she studied English/Cultural Studies at McGill University. She grew up in Toronto and London.

About Monica Elena: I'm a former international fashion model turned holistic nutritional practitioner and owner of Holistic Heels. I strongly believe that health is much more than the absence of disease; true health exists when nutrition is combined with authentic self-love. I had been modeling for over eight years and the passion and excitement I once had for my career was dwindling, as was my self-esteem. I was so fixated on my external body that I wasn’t giving my internal workings any love or attention. I delved into an eye-opening journey in holistic nutrition where I gained an invaluable understanding of what true health actually looked and felt like. The nutritional knowledge allowed for physical healing, but better yet, the authentic self-love allowed for a complete shift in mindset. I began listening to my body and making food decisions based on vitality and nourishment rather than body image alone. During this tremendous period of self-realization and a regain of passion and purpose, I absolutely knew that I needed to share my knowledge with others -- particularly after having met numerous individuals who had similar yet undeniably taboo struggles with food and body image but were lacking the continuous guidance to help overcome these blocks in life. In “honour” of International Women’s Day, we've chosen to come together to appreciate our collective infinite power when we honour the beauty of our fullness, our wholeness, and that we have everything we need within us to celebrate with love.

Through the lens of the 5 love languages, we'll look inward to ourselves. The 5 love languages are normally understood to improve your relationships with others. Let’s, instead, dial it back to the most important relationship: the relationship to Self. How can we honour the Self, by getting in touch with how we each, individually receive love?

The Lab of Meditation: A 200 hour meditation teacher training

A successful completion of the 200-hour Teacher Training will provide you with a certification of completion as a Lab of Meditation Mindfulness Teacher.  Join your guide, Hiroko Demicheles, and other beautiful souls for an intensive mindful journey focused on personal inquiry, science, biofeedback, and social justice.

Part one of this journey consists of 15-weeks of immersive evenings (Tuesdays, 6 pm – 9:30 pm) plus a non-residential weekend retreat.

The Lab of Meditation Teacher Training Program is laboratory-like exploration, in which we will explore our inner life and its effects on our bodies, brains, minds, and spirit.

In the Lab, through mindful practice, we will become curious scientists, as we observe emotions, with curiosity and without judgment. Objectively, like in a lab.

The Lab’s Meditation Teacher Training is an intensive 3-month program, aiming to provide you with the necessary understanding, training, mentoring, and practical experience to invite mindfulness into your life, as a practitioner or as a guide and teacher for others.  

This program is perfect for individuals wanting to build their personal practice, or for businesses and mindfully-oriented organizations wanting to feel competent and congruent in the practice of mindfulness, meditation and in life, overall.

 Trauma contributes writing scripts, embedded into our nervous system, that leads us to different painful money narratives and disruptive behaviors. It's the Grace Club Season Opener! Join the past speakers from their 2018 year for their first ever speed storytelling - OPEN TO ALL GENDERS!! 

Each past speaker will present a golden nugget from the theme they shared last year. There are at least 20 of their phenomenal storytellers coming back.

As always there will be a bar ($5/drink) and this time snacks catered by Tayybeh Syrian Cuisine. Proceeds will support Voices of Muslim Women and their Ringleaders Conference 2019.

This is not to be missed. Bring your favourite feminist for a night of sharing, wine and amazing snacks in a beautiful setting.
